Youth Month Outreach

19 June ’26: As part of the Youth Month, we were proud to partner with Sea Point SAPS, CPF, and SRG for a meaningful community awareness event focused on mental health, bullying, and encouraging young people to seek help when they feel overwhelmed.

When we come together, we create safer, stronger communities where every young person feels seen, heard, and supported.

Collaboration is key to building a brighter future for our youth.

NPA awareness drive at Milnerton High School.

18 May ’26: CIC members joined several community focused organisations at the National Prosecuting Authority’s awareness drive hosted at Milnerton High School.

We had the opportunity to showcase our trauma and GBV counselling and support services, while also promoting anti bullying awareness. More than 1,300 learners attended and engaged enthusiastically in this impactful initiative.

The NPA regularly runs educational and awareness outreach programs in Western Cape schools to prevent crime and explain the consequences of bullying.

16 May ’26: Some of our team members joined The Impilo Project at Marconi Beam Primary School in Joe Slovo Park.

The Impilo Project is a community-based primary healthcare initiative working in South Africa’s informal settlements to shift healthcare from reactive to proactive.
By empowering local health workers, hosting regular Community Health Days, and using smart medical technology, the goal is to deliver early, preventative care where it is needed most.

GBV Awareness Workshop

4 May ’26: Together with SAPS Milnerton, we hosted a GBV awareness workshop to educate, empower, and strengthen our community against sexual offences and Gender-based violence.

Kolisi Foundation 6th Birthday Celebration

14 April ’26: We had the privilege of joining our partners, the Kolisi Foundation, for their 6th birthday celebration.

It was a beautiful moment to reflect on 6 years of incredible impact, heartfelt service, and unwavering dedication to uplifting communities.

Here’s to many more years of changing lives and making a difference where it matters most.

Impilo Health Day

27 February ’26: Last week we had the privilege of attending the Impilo Health Day.

The goal of the day was simple but powerful : to encourage, teach and empower one another to live a life of health and freedom. As Community Intervention Centre, we were proud to provide much-needed counselling support and mental health check-ins to patrons through out the event.

It was truly an empowering afternoon where many benefited from mental health education, open conversations, and a safe space to reflect and grow.

Together, we continue to break the stigma and strengthen our community- one healthy mind at a time.

Teen Suicide Awareness Week

19 February ’26: Teen Suicide Awareness Week came to a meaningful close at Brooklyn clinic and Brooklyn library.

We engaged, educated, and empowered our youth with resources, support and open conversations about mental health.

A strong community creates safe spaces for young people to speak up and seek help.

Site 5, Dunoon, Response: Power of the Community

3 February ’26: The response after the Site 5 fire in Dunoon reminded us of the power of community. Thank you to every individual and organization who supported our call, your help means more than words can say.

19 December ’25: Standing together at Mater Domini for the 16 Days of Activism, raising our voices against Gender-Based Violence. Let’s continue the conversation, support survivors, and work towards safer communities.
