Friday, 29 August: We were at Bayside Mall, engaging with members of the community about GBV Awareness and distributing Kolisi Foundation Power-2-Packs. his was in collaboration with SAPS Table View, TLC and the Kolisi Foundation, helping to raise awareness and support for important social issues while strengthening community ties.
Friday, 15 August: We took part in the City of Cape Town Matrix’s outreach at the Athlone Community Centre, continuing the celebration of Women’s Day and emphasising the importance of women’s participation in leadership and the economy.

On July 18, CIC supervisors and volunteers spent a wonderful Mandela Day expressing their gratitude to the police and hospitals in the Table View, Milnerton and Melkbosstrand areas, by providing CIC-branded cupcakes.
On Jun 6, we held one of our CIC monthly team meetings, where we celebrated our 23rd Birthday. 🥳 We look forward to many more years serving our communities, offering hope, support and empowerment to people in crisis.

Apr. 30 '24: We joined Table View SAPS at Bayside Mall for an Awareness Outreach. Approx. 100 people came to talk to us, quite a few sharing their struggles with us.
On Freedom Day (27 Apr’24), the CIC had the honour of joining the Human Rights Screened Foundation (HSRF) for the South African launch of the Universal Hand Signal for Help campaign at the Maitland Town Hall (Western Cape).
Mar. 1, 2024: Our CIC team started March off by hosting a session where Phumza, our Social Auxiliary Worker, educated the group on the rights of those experiencing Domestic Violence and how protection orders work.
Feb. 29, 2024: Our CIC members joined SAPS Table View in an awareness outreach at Table Bay Mall
Feb. 29, 2024: Members of our CIC team attended a Kolisi Foundation Connect session at the AWS skills centre in Cape Town, with organisations such as TLC. A big thank you to the Kolisi Foundation for bringing us all together to learn about Cloud Computing and storage.
Feb. 27, 2024: We held a Domestic Violence educational workshop with some of our clients at the Milnerton Police Station. Phumza, our CIC Social Auxiliary Worker, educated the group on protection orders and their rights.
Feb. 21, 2024: Our CIC team delivered 40 food parcels to to GBV clients. Thank you so much to the Kolisi Foundation for their generous food donation!
Feb. 07, 2024: Our Social Worker, Francisca, and our Social Auxiliary Worker, Phumza, hosted a workshop at Inkwenkewezi High School in Du Noon, attended by 39 learners. The young learners were educated on GBV and learned about the various forms of Domestic Violence.

Feb. 7, 2024: The evening before SONA, our Social Worker, Francisca, and our Social Auxiliary Worker, Phumza, were invited to represent the CIC at a function at the British High Commission in Bishops Court
Feb. 6, 2024: One of our supervisors, Marion, represented the CIC at a GBV awareness drive organised by the Justice Department in Ladismith, Western Cape. “Power 2 You” packs, donated by our partner the Kolisi Foundation, were handed out.
On Saturday, Aug 19, Francisca, our CIC Social Worker, delivered a talk on gender-based violence, together with one of our clients. The venue was the Phoenix Hall in Milnerton.
Our CIC team was at St. Oswald’s church, Milnerton, for the unveiling of a yellow bench with our logo and contact number, for people who may need to reach out for support

Sponsored by the Union of Jewish Woman, Cape Town, the Victim Empowerment Room (VEP) at the Melkbosstrand SAPS received a wonderful refurbishment to be more victim friendly. The refurbishment was carried out on Tuesday, 6th December, by members of the Community Intervention Centre (CIC)
